About Cascadia

Bounded by the Pacific Ocean, the Continental Divide and the biogeoclimatic region dominated by douglas fir, the Cascadian Bioregion contains some of the most diverse ecosystems in the world. Temperate rain forests blanket the western coast, rugged mountains rise up like the region's spine, and to the east dry pine forests and scrub desert add their stark beauty.

Two countries claim the lands within Cascadia, Canada and the United States. Their states and provinces, cities and towns, share a common culture, economy and history. They also share a common future. Here in the northwest corner of North America, enough natural resources, economic prosperity, and social ingenuity exist to enable this region to create a sustainable way of life.
